A complete, free sequence on the regulatory and technological transition. It starts with the regimes that already bill shipowners, MRV, ETS, CII, FuelEU, moves to the IMO framework that will shape the next decades, and then examines the answers on offer: alternative fuels, energy-saving technologies, and onboard carbon capture, each judged on engineering rather than press releases.

The sequence

Each course stands alone; this order is the order the knowledge builds.

Regulations come first because everything after them is priced by them. Fuel GHG intensity is the thread that recurs: Maritime Regulations, Explained covers FuelEU Maritime's limit, The IMO Net-Zero Framework covers the global fuel standard built on the same well-to-wake accounting but with different scope and pricing, and Alternative Fuels for Shipping then judges the fuels themselves on energy density, storage, safety and lifecycle emissions rather than on which regulatory line they clear. The last two courses turn back on the first: an energy-saving technology is worth what it measurably saves under those regimes, and whether a captured tonne of CO₂ counts at all is decided by the very mechanics taught at the start, under the ETS the principle holds but the monitoring and verification chain from ship to permanent storage is unwritten, under FuelEU the formula is a property of the fuel and does not see the exhaust, and under DCS and CII a capturing ship reports what a venting sister reports.
